STOP Working in a Silo

Working with a creator's community is often one of the most underestimated opportunities content creators don't maximize.

By working within a broader network of other content creators, you can extract ideas, information, tactics, and other valuable traits to apply to the content you're producing. Working alongside others will give you a better chance to achieve your goals and build a business through the content that you're making.

Unfortunately, sometimes we don't create processes to set ourselves up for success.

Content Creators overvalue Benchmarks instead of Feedback.

Creators early in their journey struggle to move from a "solopreneur" to more of a creativepreneur mindset falling into traps.

  • Comparing vanity metrics such as likes, retweets, and views as an indicator of success
  • Not seeking other creators on a similar journey
  • A lack of guides to help along the way
  • Not investing resources into themselves

You can avoid these traps by following these three fundamental rules.

  1. 1
Find others who are seeking to achieve similar goal
  2. 2
Setup a Weekly Content Audit & Review
  3. 3
    Hire a Coach

Find Your Creator's Tribe

I've achieved many of my critical content creation goals by connecting deeper with other individuals on a similar path and journey.

My good friends at BAD FILMS – who produce video content and live streams – and I consistently talk about tech, tactics, and industry information to stay ahead of the curve and keep each other sharp.

I learn from some of their wins and losses in addition to my own, allowing me to grow faster.

Even Michael Jordan had a Coach.

People forget that top athletes, personalities, and celebrities all have coaches that help them achieve specific results.

Over the past year, I've been obsessing about learning how to build a community, and I joined a group led by an individual named Tom Ross. Through Tom, I've learned much about communication, providing value, nurturing relationships and other critical factors through his coaching, workshops, and conversations.

Coaching is a two-way street, and it is essential to give into the relationship to receive more. If you can't pay your coach, dedicate time to bringing them value to strengthen the connection to make it a win-win scenario.

To Grow Measure Where You Started

As you begin to start to make more progress in operating more like a creativepreneur, it is vital to reflect on how far you've come.

Focus on executing and analyzing your progress. Measure the benefits of finding your tribe and putting into action information that you're learning from your coaches and tweak along the way to achieve your unique goals.

Data is abundant, and one of the best things you can do is create a series of systems outlined here to convert data into useful information that you can apply to your unique goals in your career.
